About Covered Text
Words overwhelm the message. They do not always communicate what we want to say, and are often an inefficient way of truthfully expressing ourselves. In the same way, facial expressions can be confusing. Through observing and exploring these phenomena, I become intrigued by the methods through which people interact. I play with the juxtaposition of words and visual cues to emphasize the variety of possible interpretations.

About Sara MacNeil
I grew up in a rowdy neighborhood with a park full of goat heads in Albuquerque, NM. Eventually, we moved a couple blocks away from the ocean in West Haven, Ct. Later, I met a friend who inspired me to paint. When I'm not painting I'm saving up funds to travel. One summer I spent a month in Kuwait studying Middle Eastern Culture. I combine facial expressions and words to display the ambiguity of communication through my artwork.
